Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health, founded in 1919. In 2024/25 over 13,000 veterans benefited from specialist support including a 24-hour helpline, psychological therapies and the VICTOR intensive PTSD treatment programme. Clinical data shows 73% of veterans who undertake treatment recover from PTSD — significantly above recovery rates in other mental health services — with 97% reporting a good or very good experience.
